- Must have gear to Snowmobile
It was our first time getting out on the snowmobiles and boy did we have one fantastic day. Our Crew we were with hit the perfect day with clear blue bird skies and a snowy jackpot. We went out to Cle Elum, WA and rented snowmobiles from Motortoy Rentals and Tours . They were fantastic as you check-in, supply the helmets and show you all the controls of the ski-doo’s. The Ski-Doo we were on were the Ski-Doo Grand Touring 600 – 4 Stroke and were sure fun. The Motortoy Rentals and Tours brought the Ski-Doo’s out to Reecer Creek SnoPark where we were able to go explore the trails for a 4 hour rental. They lined up the four two-person Ski-Doo’s for us and even had hot chocolate and snacks waiting for us as we came back from our adventures.
The machines are similar in nature to the Sea-Doo’s on the water where you need to shift weight as you go around corners.
The views on the trail in the area are amazing! As you navigate through the trails there are rivers, lakes and mountains at multiple viewpoints.
Must have gear we’d recommend would be an insulated jacket or winter coat, water-proof pants (we wore our ski coat and pants) and at least one underlayer to help retain heat. Be sure to bring sunglasses if you get a blue-bird day as the snow can be verify reflective!
Make sure you have warm socks and good winter boots or water-proof shoes since you’ll likely have to walk in deep snow and dont want to have to deal with wet feet.
Don’t forget those winter gloves!
The Big Takeaway
If we could provide advice for anything, it would be to try and go on a clear day. It provided such an enjoyable experience for us to soak in the views and not get too cold if you had to stop for snack and lunch break on the trails. If you are going for a day trip and sharing a snowmobile between two people, I would highly suggest renting for four hours versus two hours as it provides you enough time to enjoy exploring a few different trails and as well as give the driver a chance to really feel the need for speed behind the handlebars. Get out there and go book your first snowmobile trip as it sure was a blast!
Extra Pro-tip, bring some extra snacks to eat at some trail stops and beverages to cheers the day!
If you get out on snowmobiles or have another great spot for us to check out we would love to hear from you!
